CNN is reporting now that external influence most likely blew up the Russian jet.
The only reasonable explanation for the crash of a Russian passenger jet in Egypt is “an external influence,” an executive from the airline that operated the flight said Monday, stressing that planes don’t just break apart in midair.
“We exclude technical problems and reject human error,” Alexander Smirnov, an official at the airline, told a news conference as he discussed possible causes of the crash.
The Russian passenger jet had been fully inspected and its crew didn’t communicate any problems during the flight, executives for the airline Kogalymavia told reporters Monday.
The Airbus A321-200 had previously had an accident involving its tail section, but the airline officials said that full-scale repairs had been done and that there was no reason to think that the prior accident had anything to do with the crash Saturday.
